Once our Partner has checked the artwork information, the Partner submits the final data to Artory either via API or directly into our Partner UI. The Partner signs the data with their unique cryptographic signature. Artory then automatically creates a hash of the data—a digital fingerprint. The same data will always result in the same hash, but modifying the data even by one letter or symbol will results in a completely different hash. We then add this unique hash to public blockchains.
The goal is to ensure that the signed data on the Registry has not been changed or manipulated in any way. We do this by repeatedly re-hashing the data from the Partners several times a minute, and checking over and over that the hash of the data matches the hash on the blockchain. This simple check ensures that the data you see as verified in the Registry is exactly the data that the Partner submitted to us. Nothing has been changed or manipulated. This helps increase the trust not just in the data, but in the Partners themselves who have committed to data transparency and security.
